Prepare to be Swept Away

Your home away from home where you can be sure to experience relaxation, good food and most of all - stunning views... This is what makes Swept Away Guest House the perfect getaway accommodation for families and their pets, couples seeking a romantic escape and companies looking for an "all-in-one" facility that provides everything required for a constructive corporate retreat.

Let's take a quick look around...

The Foyer & TV / Living Room

Upon entering the house, you will be welcomed by reception on your right and then proceed into the communal living room which is equipped with DSTV, German channels and local channels as well as comfortable couches – perfect for enjoying “the game” or lounging between beach walks. Little bits of carefully selected and placed decor ornaments provide a warm and homely feel with a pinch of luxury as well as comfort in abundance.

Chill in the Winter Garden

Our stunning Winter Garden and adjourned Mariner’s Lounge are two of our main attractions! Breathtaking sea views that stretch along the beach and far into the ocean coupled with our comfortable loungers in a large open space, culminate in absolute luxurious relaxation just yards from your own room in the house. Whether you want to read a book or mingle with fellow guests, the Winter Garden is the place to be! The aptly decorated Mariner’s Lounge is just as laid back and includes a bar that all guests are welcome to make use of whilst gazing down on the beach during the day or at the stars at night using an authentic mariner’s spotter scope. Scroll through the images alongside to see just how comfortable this space is and how spectacular the views are from our elevated spot beside the beach!

When in Rome - WE BRAAI!

You’re on the West Coast of the Cape Town in South Africa, so naturally, you’re going to want to enjoy the locals’ favourite pastime, and BRAAI! Thankfully, we have two very different but equally appealing braai areas on the property. The first is in the front garden which is completely enclosed making it ideal for a shady family braai, whilst the second option is the indoor braai area which leads out onto the winter garden – making for the most spectacular sunset braais that you can enjoy with other guests.

Kick start everyday with our Bold Breakfast Buffet!

Our breakfast buffet is something to behold! A Fresh daily dose of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cheese, cold meats, bread buns & an array of juices awaits you every morning. So whether you’re prepping for your morning run or recovering from last night’s braai in the Winter Garden – we have something for every palette. The buffet is set up just beside the Winter Garden and thus you can enjoy your breakfast in the dining room or winter garden whilst overlooking the beautiful Yzerfontein coastline. Bon appétit!

Bring your children, bring your pets - everyone is welcome!

The way the property has been designed makes it ideal not only for couples in love and corporate getaways, but also for entire families and their pets. The front yard has ample space for activities and is completely secure and safe for your kids to enjoy themselves. Pets are welcome in the house and of course outside too. Let’s not forget the ample beach just a few yards away… So feel free to bring all your loved ones along – they’re sure to have a great time!

Let's not forget the main attraction - OUR ROOMS!

Each one of our 6 units is gorgeously decorated in a specifically chosen theme, ranging from African Safari to Marine style decor. You’ll be welcomed with a small box of treats and a thirst quenching minibar (upon request) that is stocked with sodas, fruit juice, wine and a few stronger options for those looking to really unwind! Tea & coffee is provided as well as a television. Finally, you can be “rest assured” that you get a good nights rest in one of the King-sized beds that each of our rooms is furnished with.

My partner and I were treated like VIP guests from the moment we walked in the door at Swept Away. The room we had was spacious, clean and WARMED! 🙂 The view from the room was magnificent and it was a real treat to wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the waves. What we did not expect was the freshly baked muffins every morning (which accompanied the breakfast we ordered), the smell of which literally dragged us out of the room and into the kitchen… or the freshly made gluhwien which we were surprised with on the cold rainy Saturday evening! To say the staff were friendly and helpful is an understatement. Inge is a lovely, warm German lady and we felt very welcome.
